Insight: A Low Vision Expo
Everything you need to know about low vision is at SightConnection’s fourth annual Insight: A Low Vision Expo on Saturday, June 8, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Our keynote lecture “Splashes of Light: The Impact of Visual Impairment on Monet’s Artwork” will be presented by international eye-care humanitarian Dr. Imran A. Khan (OD, MSc, MPH, FAAO). Insight also features informative break-out discussions, a hands-on assistive technology learning lab, and a vendor fair.

Five Take-away Activities
Presented by Michael Bower, BA, ACC, Education Coordinator, Alzheimer’s Association of Western and Central Washington State Chapter. Learn how to
engage the person with dementia and create meaningful, personalized activities out of everyday tasks and interactions without adding to caregiving time
or incurring added expense. This class will teach participants how to create a portable individualized activity bag, and how to use music, reminiscence,
memories, and former interests to create an active and engaging environment for the person with dementia. Space is limited, please RSVP by June 10th

Safety and Dementia

damage to the decision-making, judgment, and impulse centers of the brain, people with dementia often put themselves and others at risk. From wandering
to driving to household tools, this session explores the hazards of the home and community, as well as offering assessment tools and ways to make the

Generation Alzheimer’s

baby boomers started reaching 65 years of age. This presentation explores the impact that baby boomers and Alzheimer’s disease will have on our already
